Ingham County Pheasants Forever Sponsored 44 veterans from Operation Injured Soldier on a 225 pheasant tower hunt and walk-up at Dunn Creek Outfitters on March 22, 2013. It was truly an honor to sponsor this hunt for such an enthusiastic and grateful group of soldiers. Special thanks to Desiree and Paul of Dunn Creek Outfitters for rolling out the welcome mat, and to Jordan Keener and Operation Injured Soldier for coordinating the participants. Most importantly, A Huge Thank you to the Veterans who who serve and protect us every day!

Pheasants Forever Banquet Recipient: Rob Streeter. Our Michigan Veteran recieves a Safari Compliments of African Maximum Safari and the Drew Foundation. The Drew Crew had the distinct pleasure of sending one of Michigans injured veterans on a South African Safari, in partnership with Operation Injured Soldier, Ingham County Pheasants Forever and African Maximum Safari. A Henry Golden Boy 22LR lead the auction for Airfare for the Veteran and his wife, Purchased by Doug Kaltz of Kaltz Excavating and given to the veteran as a momento of the occassion. The Henry was engraved with the Operation Injured Soldier Logo on each side of the reciever.

USDA Announces Conservation Reserve Program General Sign-up WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 26, 2010 - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that a general sign-up for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) will begin on August 2, 2010 and continue through August 27, 2010. During the sign-up period, farmers and ranchers may offer eligible land for CRP's competitive general sign-up at their county Farm Service Agency (FSA) office. The 2008 Farm Bill authorized USDA to maintain CRP enrollment up to 32 million acres. Jim Miller, Agriculture Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agriculture Services, made the announcement on behalf of Secretary Vilsack during a conference call with reporters.

We are holding our Soldier/Veteran hunt on 10/10/08 at Dunn Creek in Laingsburg. This year we are changing it up slightly. We are hosting 20 current soldiers who have served in Iraq or Afgan. and 20 veterans who have served in a foreign war in the past with emphasis on WWII vets.

The Muzzloader Raffle tickets were drawn on November 10, 2007 at the Haslett American Legion Hall! We want to thank everyone who gave to support habitat, our youth events, and our veteran's hunt! Thanks also go out to the many chapter members (and others) who helped make this raffle a success. There is a great many generous, conservation minded sportsmen and sportswomen in the Lansing area. We appreciate your support. Special recognition should go to our chapter President Bill Brake, and Vice President Kent Ballard. They really carried this raffle and made it a success.

Forty members of PF chapter 467 enjoyed a European style pheasant hunt at Dunn Creek Outfitters in Laingsburg. On Friday October 12th, PF 467 held a chapter hunt at Dunn Creek. Everyone had a great time on the European hunt, and the following walk up hunt. A little money was raised for the chapter's habitat program with a mystery bird contest. Some of the contest winners generously turned their winnings back to the Chapter. Thanks go out to John Crabbe, John Wardlaw and Bill Brake for their generosity.

Our very own Paul Morrow was nominated as one of the Heroes of Conservation. He is known by many as "Doc" and considered the backbone of habitat in Ingham County. He has volunteered with Ducks Unlimited, The Ruffed Grouse Society, and PF. Now, anybody that knows Paul will realize that actually getting him to New York is a challenge in itself; because Paul in New York is like an elevator in an outhouse, it just doesn't belong. Paul feels most comfortable in the outdoors improving habitat or hunting with his dog Kody, not in New York dodging Taxi's.

Pheasants Forever Chapter 467 (with the Lansing area chapter of Safari Club International) sponsored a pheasant hunt for 22 Michigan soldiers. Sixteen of the soldiers have just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. Six of the soldiers attending the hunt will be deploying to Iraq in Febuary.

WILLIAMSTON -- This wasn't what pheasant hunters are used to seeing in Michigan these days. Bill Brake, John Anderson and Brake's German shorthair, Remington, had flushed two hen pheasants within five minutes of walking into a field sparsely planted with native prairie grasses.
